alive and kicking

we are still here. i'm not sure where this fall has gone. so many nights we have intended to sit down and post something and then it's bedtime. this is my favorite time of year and we have been enjoying it. but life has just been busier this time around. wil and em are even later getting home from after school activities now. we haven't adjusted to that part of them growing up yet. so now that it is november, here are some things we've been doing, enjoying, listening to, eating, etc...

last sunday i made these yummy pumpkin muffins. the best pumpkin bread mix from trader joe's.

i tried to make a buttercream frosting to go with them (thanks for the recipe pmh) but don't have the super duper mixer that is obviously necessary...i had powdered sugar and butter everywhere. i have a great hand mixer but it did not do the job. so we had muffins sans frosting. now this is on my christmas list.

i also spent some time painting 50 of these for the last stop gift shop. if you need a gift, stop by and see them!

and pb made these cute little tags that i tied on them before delivery.

on halloween night we had a fire

and pb grilled this for our dinner.

i have 2 favorite new products for any junkies out there. finally, a perfect nude lipstick available at walgreens. l'oreal colour riche in fairest nude. love.

and this from fresh. rose freshface primer. find it here. it smells like roses and feels amazing on your face. use it alone or under the high noon freshface glow or any foundation.

pb has some new favorite boots. and early christmas gift from me. stalk them here.

and he has been working on a new playlist for us. it's a work in progress but we needed some new music for our first fall in this house. this is my favorite tune on it, so far. this blog was also a nice discovery by pb this fall.

wil had his last regatta today. crew season was not what he had expected this season. some changes in the coaching staff and other stuff that made it a little less fulfilling. he starts diving and swimming on monday. i heard that sappy song, 100 years, by five for fighting early this morning while in the car. i almost started bawling thinking about him being 15 and all that life has to offer him. how this is such a priceless time of his life. i had never really stopped to listen to the lyrics.

and em had her first cheerleading competition today. wow. i'll be the first to admit that i have not understood all that this sport involves. but when they finished their routine today, there were a lot of teary moms in the stands. they have worked so hard. she comes home with a new bruise after every practice. some of these girls could barely do a cartwheel when they started the team. thanks to a talented and truly awesome coach, their performance today was incredible. all of these girls should be congratulated for their diligence.

there is a glimpse of what we have been up to this month. happy saturday evening. lsu or alabama???
