our green thumbs

we decided to take advantage of the incredible weather today and work in the yard. after several cups of coffee this morning, we headed out to home depot to survey the arrival of spring plants, flowers and herbs. last year, we had the best marigolds planted around our lamp post. we faithfully "dead headed" them as they needed it and saved all of the dead flowers to dry for the seeds this year. we knew we wanted to scatter these seeds somewhere but had several pots to fill as well. we ended up with an assortment of lemon yellow petunias, snapdragons, new guinea impatiens, basil and rosemary for our herb planters. we also planted a blueberry bush and some cilantro seeds that were and easter present from my mom. photo boy smoked ribs for our easter dinner and they were spicy goodness. another fire on the patio tonight, no school tomorrow. jealous? pg

  1. i also got the fever to plant but don't think the weather is quite as dependable here on Utah Mtn. as in Rome. I will wait a while. Our prennials are coming up and they are lovely. we enjoyed an Easter dinner with Stephanie and Ray Lyon.
