taking the high road. that has been on my mind this week. it's something that i tell wil and em to do when they are struggling with sibling rivalry or petty fighting out of boredom. it's something that i try to do as an adult in various situations that life throws my way. lately, it seems as though the benefits of taking the high road have been less than subtle, and more...very much in my face. when it is my choice to take the high road, it can seem painful or a bit like i am having to swallow a tennis ball size of pride. i can see and know that it is worth it, but it can still be difficult at times. but when i am on the other end and receiving the returns of someones choice to take the better road, or if i am just an observer, watching another take the high road for one that i love, it is an amazing thing to experience. it is a heart warming thing to watch and benefit from someones generosity and kindness.
